Collagen Coffee Smoothie
This thick, creamy collagen coffee smoothie is a great way to start the day. If you’re searching for a pick-me-up, this caffeine-infused smoothie will give you that much-needed boost.

Easy Collagen Coffee Smoothie
A collagen coffee smoothie is a great caffeine boost when the weather is too hot. If you’ve ever started sweating while drinking a hot cup of coffee during the summer, you’re not alone! I have a difficult time sipping on hot drinks when the weather starts to heat up.
This drink is the perfect alternative to a piping hot latte. Plus, you get the added benefits from collagen peptides. This is my favorite smoothie to drink in the morning. It’s delicious and has just enough sweetness. Protein powder is a popular ingredient in smoothie recipes. However, some people notice a positive difference after introducing collagen into their diet. What’s more, it’s a delicious drink with rich coffee flavor! Instead of venturing out to your local grocery store for cold brew, you can make this instead. It’s easy to make and doesn’t take too much time.
Ingredients For Collagen Coffee Smoothie
Here is the list of ingredients you’ll need to make this coffee smoothie. This smoothie is infused with nutrients like vitamin C. Get ready to enjoy this amazing smoothie that’s easy to make!

Coffee – Cold coffee is the main ingredient in this smoothie recipe. Additionally, the amount of coffee may not seem like much, but you’ll still be able to taste that bold flavor.
Oat Milk – Milk helps the frozen banana pieces blend more easily. Since this banana smoothie uses more than one banana, the extra liquid is essential.
Banana – There is no yogurt in this smoothie. Yogurt is a popular ingredient because it allows the smoothie to thicken. I opted for bananas to recreate that creamy texture you get from a smoothie recipe with yogurt. In its place, frozen banana creates a thick, creamy smoothie.
Collagen Peptides- Collagen peptide powder has a variety of benefits. Some versions are a great source of vitamin C and hyaluronic acid. I like to use this brand.
Caramel Coffee Creamer – Caramel creamer is a flavor enhancer. In some cases, nut butter can enrich the flavor. However, caramel is sweeter and cuts the bitterness from the coffee.
Note: You can substitute the coffee creamer with a dairy-free creamer. In addition, use plant-based collagen peptides to make this drink free from animal by-products or dairy.
Methods For Adding Coffee To Smoothies
There are several methods for brewing coffee. The coffee should have a nice smooth texture and bold flavor. This will have a positive impact on how your smoothie turns out!
- Brew coffee using a single serve coffee maker. Alternatively, you can make a cup of instant coffee with coffee granules instead. Follow the instructions. Then chill the coffee until it’s cold.
- Another option is to brew a pot of coffee. After brewing the coffee it will get very hot. Allow the coffee to cool down completely.

How To Make A Coffee Smoothie
See the recipe card for important notes and complete instructions.
Prepare bananas for the smoothie: First, slice the bananas. Then freeze them for about 12 hours. Place the bananas in a single layer inside a container. This prevents sticking.
Brew Coffee: Brew the coffee. I use medium roast K-cups. I prefer this because I can easily make a small amount of coffee. From there, measure the coffee and cover it with its plastic wrap. Then chill the coffee in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or until cold.
Blend: After chilling the coffee, pour it into the blender with the milk. The liquid should be close to the blades to promote blending. Then add the frozen bananas, collagen powder, and caramel creamer. Since there is more than 1 banana in this recipe, you’ll get a hint of coffee banana flavor.
Toppings: Pour into a large glass to serve. Additionally, you can top this drink with salted caramel or chocolate chunks!

Recipe Success Tips
After blending – there may be some banana chunks.
- To blend further, turn the blender off, then use a silicon spatula or tamper to push the bananas down towards the liquid.
- Remove your spatula, cover the blender, and blend until smooth.
Additions And Variations For This Smoothie
Frozen coffee cubes: Add coffee ice cubes to your smoothie to keep it cold. Most importantly, it will increase the flavor in this delicious coffee smoothie recipe.
Salted caramel: Drizzle salted caramel inside the glass before pouring the smoothie. This will intensify the flavor.
Almond butter: Almond butter is a great source of protein.
Chia seeds: Add a teaspoon of chia seeds for fiber and calcium.
Unsweetened cocoa powder: Cocoa powder is an optional ingredient in this recipe (see recipe card for measurements). Coffee, chocolate, and caramel is an incredible combination. If you enjoy a little extra sweetness in your coffee you’ll love this delicious addition!

How Bananas Affect Taste
Over time, bananas become more ripe. There are visual cues like the color of the banana that indicate how ripe the banana is. When bananas become more ripe the sweeter the taste gets. However, the texture becomes softer as well. A yellow banana is ideal if the smoothie depends on the banana for texture. It has a good amount of sweetness and it’s firm enough.
