This recipe was inspired by the roasted peaches with pistachio crème in the Williams Sonoma Dessert of the Day cookbook. For some reason, when I read this recipe, all I could think about was using the pistachio crème for ice cream. It’s safe to say I never made the recipe as it was intended. But deviating from the original recipe left me with this delightful frozen dessert!

Sweet, salty, creamy, and no artificial flavors or dyes! I love everything about this no churn pistachio ice cream with real pistachios.

Make this Pistachio Ice Cream at Home

Make homemade pistachio crème with:

  • Shelled pistachios (I remove the shells by hand)
  • Milk. If you’re using dairy-free, make sure it doesn’t have a strong aftertaste.
  • Eggs
  • Sugar (or alternative sweetener)

Ingredients in pistachio crème recipes vary. If you prefer to make it at home, you can borrow Dessert of the Day from your local library or try the pistachio cream recipe from AllRecipes. I frequently make recipes from AllRecipes and have good experiences.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 14 ounces condensed milk
  • ½ cup Pistachio Creme
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
  • chopped pistachios (optional)

Instructions

  • In a stand mixer bowl with fitted with a whisk attachment, whip the heavy whipping cream until medium-stiff peaks form.
  • Whisk the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla paste, salt, and pistachio creme in a large bowl.
  • Pour the sweetened condensed milk mixture on top of the whipped cream and gently fold until everything comes together. Transfer to your freezer safe container and set in the freezer for at least 12 hours to chill.
