Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 measuring cup
  • measuring spoons
  • 1 tea kettle optional

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • cup hot water
  • ½ cup milk or dairy-free alternative
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries, thawed or fresh strawberries
  • zest of 1 lime
  • juice from ½ of a lime
  • dash of salt
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions

  • In a blender, add the strawberries, lime zest, lime juice, salt, sugar, and blend the strawberry puree until smooth.
  • Boil the water in a tea kettle or heat the water in the microwave. In a mug, mix the matcha powder, maple syrup, and hot water together.
  • Add the ¼ cup of strawberry puree into a large glass with ice. Pour the milk, then the matcha mixture. Stir and enjoy!

Notes

  1. For convenience, the strawberry puree can be made ahead of time. When making ahead, store in a mason jar or container. Refrigerate up to 3 days.
  2. If your using a different brand of matcha I recommend preparing the matcha in a bowl. Add some hot water to the bowl and whisk. Pour the remaining water, continue to whisk with a bamboo whisk until the mixture is smooth. This process removes clumps.
